Getting Remedy For an Addiction While Surviving in New Jersey

In New Jersey, there is currently quite the epidemic going on with an alarming number of people using drugs and alcohol. The cases of overdose from heroin are three times the national average, and alcohol abuse and opioid addiction are also a reason of concern. Statistics show that over 14,000 individuals died from drug overdose over the past 25 years.

The numbers are scary to say the least, but New Jersey is trying to make an effort to help those with addiction issues by offering programs that can make a difference for them. About 70,000 patients were admitted to drug treatment facilities in 2015. More than 76,000 patients were admitted in 2016. Even though this shows that more and more people are seeking drug and substance abuse treatment, it also shows that substance abuse in New Jersey is on the rise.

Someone admitting they have a problem is the first step on the path to rehabilitation, and looking for treatment comes next. New Jersey has more than a thousand different rehab centers available for those looking for help, so the support is there if and when these individuals need it. Not all programs and treatment centers are the same because some are funded by the government, some are covered by insurance, and some are considered private centers where patients can pay out of pocket for high-quality treatment services.

Apart from denial, another reason why addicts don't seek treatment is the high cost of rehabilitation. Not all health insurance policies cover the expenses of limited stays for treatment in authorized centers. Some of the private treatment centers offer different plans to make treatment more affordable, allowing clients to pay for the services little by little.

Another option is considering non-profit organizations which offer treatment at little to no cost. State funded centers are also a viable option and can provide treatments for free, but the waiting lists are usually long and the length of stay is rather limited. Someone looking for a way to afford treatment could always check out the government grants that are offered.

There are many other factors which need to be considered when selecting one of the drug rehab centers in New Jersey. Not every facility, clinic, or center offers that same treatment program. The only way to know what is offered at a specific facility is to do research on the place.

The amount of time a patient gets to stay at a rehab center is another thing that must be taken into consideration. There are centers that provide services for a three-week period and then there are other centers that offer services for as long as the client needs the help. Some of the treatment centers have more amenities to offer than others, too. It is good to know how many patients are inside the building and how many staff members are working there to provide as much help as they can.

Centers that provide support and care after treatment may be another factor that is of importance. It is ideal to find a place that teaches the addicted person how to return back to everyday life without giving into temptation.

Various resources are available for those struggling with addiction in New Jersey, including anonymous programs for those addicted to alcohol and narcotics as well as the Rehab Hotline.
